About Active Bulgarian Society (ABS)

Active Bulgarian Society (ABS) is a youth-led organization dedicated to empowering young people, promoting sustainability, and strengthening European citizenship. Based in Blagoevgrad, ABS actively supports initiatives related to eco-friendly practices, social inclusion, volunteering, and youth participation.

Through ESC projects, ABS creates inclusive spaces where young volunteers can develop skills, gain confidence, and actively contribute to their host community. The Youth Empowerment Project 2026 continues this mission by welcoming international volunteers to collaborate on local and European initiatives.

Project Overview and Objectives

The Youth Empowerment Project runs from 2 February 2026 to 16 June 2026, offering a four-month immersive volunteering experience. The project focuses on:

  • Empowering young people through participation and leadership

Volunteer Tasks and Responsibilities

As an ESC volunteer with ABS, you will be actively involved in a wide range of engaging and meaningful activities. No prior experience is required, as training and mentoring are provided throughout the project.

Organizing Events and Campaigns

Volunteers help plan and deliver interactive activities such as environmental clean-ups, sustainability workshops, art clubs, DIY projects, and youth engagement campaigns. These activities aim to inspire community participation and promote responsible lifestyles.
